Remembering our remarkable ancestor, Margaretha Belhorn

🕊️ Remembering our remarkable ancestor, Margaretha Belhorn, who embodied the true spirit of courage and determination. As a widowed mother of 9, she led her family across the Atlantic in 1891, settling in Lancaster, Ohio. Despite not speaking English, she maintained a mortgaged home on South Broad Street, raising 8 children while preserving their German heritage.
Her strength laid the foundation for generations of Belhorns in America. Her legacy lives on through her descendants, including her children who worked in Lancaster's shoe factories, building a new life in a new land.
Rest in peace, Great-Great-Grandmother Margaretha. Your brave journey changed our family's story forever. 🙏
